Sometimes situations escalate and more intensive or more immediate help than what our therapists can offer is needed.  If you or someone you care about is in immediate crisis or if there is an emergency, please contact one of the following resources.

If you or someone you care about is actively suicidal, please go immediately to the

Shanghai Mental Health Center:
Shanghai Mental Health Center is a mental health clinic, which offers prevention as well as psychological counseling.

Your home country Consulate or Embassy might also be able to provide support and resources in the case of a crisis (domestic abuse, child abuse, etc).

LifeLine Shanghai is also a fantastic, free resource.  While Lifeline cannot actively intervene in the case of a crisis, they do have trained volunteers who can provide listening support and who can help make referrals if you need additional resources or support. LifeLine Shanghai provides free, confidential, and anonymous emotional support via the telephone and also live-chat from 10am to 10pm, 365 days a year – 400 821 1215.
