Susanna is an Italian psychologist with experience in both Italy and the UK. She is registered with the British Psychological Society. She is fluent in both Italian and English.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical-Dynamic Psychology from the University of Padova. In the past, Susanna worked at an Italian rehab psychiatric hospital where she made use of various therapies such as group counselling, art therapy, music therapy, pet therapy, body awareness and body scan. She developed interest in art-therapy as an excellent tool to communicate and shape emotions and feelings. Thanks to this passion, Susanna held Art therapeutical groups in schools and community centres.
In the UK, Susanna worked at several schools and specialised in short-term CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) at the University of Exeter. She worked for the NHS (National Health System) for several years, treating moderate depressive disorders, generalised anxiety, specific phobias and panic disorder. During her clinical practice in the NHS, she facilitated and taught psychoeducational groups such as the student wellbeing group, where participants had the chance to explore psychological concepts like perfectionism, low self-esteem and social anxiety.
Short-term CBT approach has the aim of helping patients find practical, effective tools and strategies to deal with common mental health problems. The patient will learn the skills necessary to see the change and will continue their path towards wellbeing on their own. Alongside the practicality of CBT, Susanna will listen and will provide a safe non-judgemental environment where one can recognise, explore, and process emotions and difficult experiences.
