Katrina Volante is a student intern at CCS. She is studying clinical mental health counseling at Palo Alto University. Katrina practices from a constructivist orientation, a theory that asserts that reality is subjective: people construct their own reality within themselves and project it into the external world. This means that the language we use as we experience life and tell our story is of great importance. During counseling, expressive arts techniques, such as writing and mindfulness, may be used to deepen insight and explore presenting issues. Katrina is available to counsel individuals aged thirteen and older. She has experience working with issues such as low self-awareness, low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.
