Catherine Humpherys has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Northwestern University, USA and is a Licensed Clinical Counselor in the State of Illinois. Catherine has worked as a counselor and presenter for the past 17 years.
Catherine works with couples and individual adults and teens. Her work is informed by individual psychology, differentiation theory, and attachment theory. As a couples counselor Catherine works with couples struggling with a myriad of issues including breaches of trust, sexuality, money, parenting, as well as chronic fighting and gridlock. These struggles are used as a gateway to create greater personal growth and an increased capacity for marital intimacy and passion.
Catherine also enjoys working with individual adults and teens experiencing a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, self-harm, and chronic self-doubt. Catherine believes every pain point has the capacity to guide each of us into healing; opening ourselves to greater peace and joyful living.
As a presenter Catherine has worked with an array of organizations in Shanghai on topics including cultural and developmental diversity, burnout, and value identification. Catherine is most passionate in supporting the healthy sexual development of children through her Raising Healthy Kids Series; a group of workshops offering support to parents and schools as they guide children and teens through their sexual and social development.
