Tofu is a food made of condensed soy milk that is pressed into solid white blocks in a process quite similar to cheesemaking. It originated in China. It is high in protein and contains all of the essential amino acids your body needs. It also provides fats, carbs, and a wide variety of vitamins and minerals.
Tofu comes in various forms, very soft, semi soft, hard, fried, pocket style…you name it, and it can tolerate different methods of cooking. The purpose of this class is to introduce different forms of tofu, as well as several different ways to make tofu into delicious dishes.
